Commemorating the 64th Anniversary, WIKA and WIKA Realty Synergize to Hold a Seminar and Health Assistance to Prevent Stunting.

Jakarta, February 22, 2024 — As part of the celebration of the 64th anniversary of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk ("WIKA") and in support of the peak of National Nutrition Day, WIKA organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity in the form of the WIKA Cares About Stunting Seminar with the theme "Complementary Feeding Rich in Animal Protein Prevents Stunting" simultaneously in 64 working areas/regions of WIKA throughout Indonesia on Wednesday (21/02). Supporting this activity, PT Wijaya Karya Realty ("WIKA Realty"), one of WIKA's subsidiaries, collaborated with Posyandu Dahlia in Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta, actively participating in the seminar. Not only that, WIKA Realty also provided health assistance as a contribution to shaping a healthy younger generation.

The health assistance provided by WIKA Realty includes height and weight measuring tools for children, as well as height measuring scales for infants. Additionally, the company distributed aid to improve animal protein intake, such as UHT milk, anchovies, and high-protein eggs, to 100 family cards with a total of 140 children.

"Building awareness of the importance of adequate nutritional intake, including protein fulfillment, is the initial step in our effort to contribute to preventing stunting. By providing education and health assistance, we are not only striving to prevent stunting but also building a solid foundation for the nation's future by nurturing quality successors," said Saskia Ayu Megananda, Corporate Secretary of WIKA Realty.

In Indonesia, stunting remains a serious unresolved issue. The causes are diverse, including nutritional deficiencies. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that globally, stunting cases remain high, ranging from 20% to 30%. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the stunting rate in Indonesia is still at 21.6%. Therefore, addressing stunting needs to be a priority to achieve optimal health conditions, involving various sectors, including nutrition, as well as maternal and child health.

Thus, through these tangible steps taken, WIKA Realty hopes to participate as a positive agent of change in building a healthier and higher-quality future for the nation's next generation. Consequently, WIKA Realty will continue to commit to various sustainable efforts to enhance community well-being and actively contribute to nation-building.
