Supporting Urban Space Transformation, Laswi Heritage Selected as the Venue for Bandung Design Biennale 2025

Bandung, 27 October 2025 — Laswi Heritage, part of the Tamansari Laswi City area, continues to strengthen its role as a creative public space by hosting the Bandung Design Biennale 2025 from 3–25 October 2025. This international design forum serves as a platform for idea exchange and collaboration among design ecosystem players, while reinforcing Bandung’s status as a UNESCO City of Design.

Managed by PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (“WIKA”) and PT Wijaya Karya Realty (“WIKA Realty”), Laswi Heritage is not only the venue for the event but also a medium for rewriting the city’s collective memory. Once functioning as a utility zone, the area has been repositioned into a vibrant space for residents and creative communities—bringing forth new cultural value without losing its historical character.

Nohandika Anggadibowo, Realty Manager of Tamansari Laswi City, stated, “We promote the transformation of exploratory spaces that are inclusive and aligned with the demands of the times.” Meanwhile, Saskia Ayu Megananda, Corporate Secretary of WIKA Realty, added, “Laswi has become an instrument that shapes urban conversations and creates new value through collaborative practices.”

Carrying the theme “Archiving Innovation,” the Bandung Design Biennale 2025 at Laswi Heritage presents a series of key programs, including the Bandung Lights festival and projection mapping, Arkiv Vilmansa’s solo exhibition “Widya Segara,” Design Forum, the Sembilanmatahari x Smiljan Space installation, a Terror Garage x Basio collaboration, the Design Urban Picnic, and the UNESCO Subnetworking Forum. These works and forums add new layers of narrative to the Laswi space.

Through the Bandung Design Biennale 2025, Laswi Heritage demonstrates how urban spaces can be reactivated as arenas for cross-disciplinary idea exchange and the preservation of urban memory in a way that resonates with the present.
